Pangkep- Vice Regent Pangkep, Abd.Rahman Assegaf gave organic tilapia as a symbolic wedding gift to the central executive of Muhammadiyah Din Syamsudin, in the event of organic tilapia fish harvest held by Council for Community Empowerment South Sulawesi in the district Pangkajene and Sulawesi South Islands.
This action was spontaneously acted out by Vice Regent Pankep welcome by thousands of people, attended by farmers across the regent and Muhammadiyah members, on Sunday (24/04/2011). In his speech, Din Syamsuddin sent his grateful to government for its paid attention and society of Pangkep, especially the pond farmers coached by Muhammadiyah Community Empowerment Council of South Sulawesi, to give a gift of tilapia as a wedding gift that would say things not to forget for a lifetime.
Din further revealed that the Muhammadiyah as amar maruf Da'wah movement, a movement that preaches enlightenment care, and society at the grass roots has to be paid special attention and should be improved life quality particularly in improving people's economy.
Head of Fisheries Department of South Sulawesi, expected Muhammadiyah movement in coaching the grass roots farmers should be a role model and those farmers coached by MPM Sulsel Muhammadiyah will be paid special attention to the development and improvement of aquaculture. The event was also attended by the head of PWM South Sulawesi KH.Alwi Uddi, head of Muhammadiyah MPM Said Tuhuleley, Syaiful Saleh, as well as a number of other invitees.
