Awakening Merapi, Muhammadiyah branch and MDMC Volunteers ran Cangkringan Expo

 

Sleman-Early Sunday morning, at Cangkringan ground, exhibition stands lined accordingly selling wide range of crafts and traditional foods from Cangkringan such salted egg, banana chips, to craft such as neat horse lumping knitted fabric.

This was shown from Cangkringan Expo event held by branch of Muhammadiyah Cangkringan and volunteers from MDMC (Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center) serving in the Complex of PKU Muhammadiyah, Jetis Village, Argomulyo, Cangkringan last Saturday to Sunday, 30 April-1 May 2011. Attending the event, the Regent and Vice Regent of Sleman, chairman of Muhammadiyah central board Dahlan Rais, chairman of the MDMC Budi Setiawan, and member of 'Aisyiyah Muhammadiyah branch of Sleman. Tabligh Akbar was also held at the event, attended by the younger brother of Amien Rais, Ahmad Dahlan Rais,who is also chairman of Muhammadiyah central board. Thousands of people crowded the ground were mostly Muhammadiyah people. There's something unique to thearrival of those attendees, most of them use trucks carrying up to 30 people. They seem enthusiastic in participating in the preaching issuing gratitude to God.

Dahlan Rais in preaching revealed his joy of the enthusiastic crowd enthusiasm coming with cheerful faces, as well as children without traumatic face due to eruption of Mount Merapi. Dahlan Rais also calls on people around to alwayshave forward and unyielding spirit in facing the trials of life, for desperation is not the character of believer.

The event held on the soccer field, was also cheered out by nasyid built from Art Institute of Culture and Sports Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Province, and also conducted free medical treatment in PKU Cangkringan.
