MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, SEMARANG - General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir inaugurated five buildings and undertook groundbreaking of Rumah Sakit Pendidikan (a hospital) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) on Monday (27/5).
Haedar stated that the inauguration and groundbreaking showed that UNIMUS has become a center of excellence.
He also appreciated UNIMUS for constructing a lot of university facilities which have led to the increasing number of students in the recent four years. Indeed, UNIMUS ranks fifth among Muhammadiyah higher education institutions in Indonesia.
“Insya Allah, I believe that UNIMUS creates noble, smart, and independent cadres who contribute to this nation,” expressed Haedar.
Besides, Haedar invited all elites and national figures to foster Indonesia to be developed, sovereign, and dignified so that Indonesia becomes as developed as other nations.
“We can evolve Indonesia by founding centers of excellence. If we only focus on feuds, this nations will get lax,” asserted Haedar.
He advised government, elites, and political party leaders to go hand in hand fostering Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Rector of UNIMUS Masrukhi informed that the hospital construction aims to support Faculty of Medicine at the UNIMUS.
He also added that at the young age UNIMUS has succeed achieving the 5th rank of Muhammadiyah higher education in Central Javav and ranking 76th of 4,600 of Indonesian higher education institution based on Webometrics.
“The elevating number of students triggers UNIMUS to found more facilities along with improving human resources such as lecturers, staffs, and students as well as educational systems to be a world class Islamic university,” conveyed Masrukhi.
Additionally, the inaugurated buildings were Faculty of Medicine, Lecturer Hall, Oral and Dental Hospital, Multipurpose Building, as well as Language and Tahfidz Qur’an Center.
