BANTUL, MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID - Confronting ‘mudik’ (a mass exodus) 2019, Muhammadiyah through Office of Muhammadiyah Alms, Infaq, and Shodaqoh (LazisMu) and Muhmmadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) established dozens of health care posts from Merak seaport to Jember Regency, Jawa Timur, called ‘MudikMu Aman’.
The posts innitiated by RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul, LazisMu, and MDMC were inaugurated by Kapolda (Regional Police Chief) of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Irjen Ahmad Dhofiri in Serandakan, Bantul in Saturday (1/6).
“I would like to thank Muhammadiyah for assisting us and a mass exodus of people by providing the MudikMu Aman,” expressed Irjen Ahmad.
The MudikMu Aman, which is Muhammadiyah’s contribution to community, was officially opened from 1 to 8 June. Besides providing the health care service, the posts offer takjil (breaking-fast snacks).
According to Deputy Head of the MDMC, in an interview on Saturday (1/6), stated that the number of posts will possibly increase.
Arif explained that the increasing number was due to many Muhammadiyah members willingly to provide the posts in some other post areas.
“The posts are contribution of Muhammadiyah to the community,” conveyed Arif.
Till 1 June 2019, LazisMu has established 29 posts in Java’s northern, middle, and southern areas as well as Java’s southern beach areas.
Meanwhile, the MDMC has provided 14 posts and there are more posts. As previous years, several Muhammadiyah hospitals also offers the posts.
Additionally, Unit Head of LKK DMT PKU Bantul Budi Santoso informed that the health care post in Serandakan was entirely supported by RS PKU Muhamamdiyah Bantul.
“Physicians, nurses, and pharmacists are divided into three shifts during the mass exodus period. We open the post next to a post offered by Polres (Precinct police) of Bantul,” said Budi.
