MUHAMMADIYAH.ID - BANTUL - In Ramadan 1440 H, Peace Generation Indonesia conducted the second PeaceSantren in Yogyakarta. It aimed to instill peace values of community.

Initiated by agents of peace of the Peace Generation dwelling in Yogyakarta and collaborating with Youth Interfaith Peacemaker Community, the PeaceSantren organized at SD Muhammadiyah Insan Kretif Kembaran (Muhika) at Wednesday (29/5) was officially opened by the school representative Widianto together with an Islamic Study teacher in Kasihan Emi Rusnawati.

It was informed that 45 students of grade 4 and 5 of SD Muhika participated in the PeaceSantren.

“Having an exciting educational concept, this PeaceSantren enables the participants to be peaceful, faithful, and respectful so that young generations of this nation are noble, open-minded, and tolerant as Islamic identity Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin (a mercy to the worlds),” stated Widianto.

During the PeaceSantren, the participants learned the values based on Al-Qur’an and Hadist through a curriculum of peace and against extremism and violence comprising of 12 peace values developed by Irfan Amalee through his organization, the Peace Generation.

Through the program, students and teachers were expected to implement the value in their daily life.
