MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, PADANG PANJANG - FKIP UM Sumatera Barat collaborating with FKIP Uhamka Jakarta through UHAMKA Press launched a book entitled ‘Drs. R. Zuhdan Berjuang di Tanah Seberang’ written by Anwar Thahar. The book launching was conducted at a complex of Muhammadiyah institution of KMM Kauman Padang Pankang, Jalan RI Dt. Sinaro Panjang 1-6, Padang Panjang, Sumatra Barat on Wednesday (12/6), and was officially opened by Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Goodwill Zubir.

Goodwill Zubir stated that R. Moh Zuhdan was a Muhammadiyah figure devoting his life to Muhammadiyah educational institutions in Yogyakarta and Minang.

“The book describes life values of R. Muhammad Zuhdan. We will enjoy the story since the words are wonderful and understandable, and it is equipped with pictures,” told Goodwill.

He contended that young Muhamamdiyah cadres should read the book because it can enhance vigor to develop Muhammadiyah as a movement.

Meanwhile, Rector of UM Sumatera Barat Riki Saputra asserted that the book possesses strong historical value and nationalism. It encompasses values of Indonesia and Minangkabau.

“The book is addressed to disseminate Muhammadiyah literacy so that Muhammadiyah can always be present in dakwah of amar ma’ruf (commanding the good) in accordance with goals of Muhammadiyah founding fathers,” declared Rik when delivering a remark.

Additionally, Head of PW Muhamamdiyah Sumatera Barat Shofwan Karim was grateful for the book launching. He believed that the book is inspiring and can boost Muhammadiyah education.

“The book can trigger our actions in a literacy realm and encourage us to comprehend a notion of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),” he maintained.
