MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, PURWOREJO - General Chairwoman of the Central Board of Aisyiyah Siti Noordjannah Djohantini was unable to attend a silaturahmi invitation at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UM Purworejo) on Wednesday (12/6) because of a health issue. Her absence was, then, substituted by General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir.

In his remark, Haedar firstly apologized for Noordjannah’s absence and stated that his presence was his responsibility as a leader in his family.

“My attendance here is to substitute General Chairwoman of the Central Board of Aisyiyah as a soccer player substitutes another player getting injured,” joked Haedar receiving applause from guests at the Auditorium Kasman Singodimedjo of UM Purworejo.

Haedar continued his speech and stated that after Ramadan and Idul Fitri each Muslim should enhance quality of his/her noble morals as a part of faith.

“People become noble since they have good morals. The dignity merges with good behaviors. They can distinguish good and bad, appropriate and inappropriate. All of their actions are entirely honest, with consideration, and not nifaq. Words and actions will go hand in hand, and the noble people must perform virtues,” conveyed Haedar.

He encourages the guests to compete in good deeds as an implementation of taqwa. “If people know virtues in Ramadan, they will hope that all months are Ramadan” (Ibn Abdi Dunya).

“Thus, after Ramadan and Idul Fitri, each Muslim can run their life better and possess better morals representing taqwa during Ramadan,” advised Haedar.
