MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, TANAH BUMBU - Muhammadiyah volunteers of Kalimantan Selatan distributed aids to flood victims in Tanah Bumbu, Kalimantan Selatan. It was conducted on Thursday and Friday (13-14/6).
The volunteers were from Office of Muhammadiyah Alms, Infaq, Shodaqoh (LazisMu) of Banjar, LazisMu of Banjarbaru, Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) of Banjar, MDMC of Banjarbaru, MDMC of Kalimantan Selatan, and Angkatan Muda Muhammadiyah (AMM - a Muhammadiyah youth organization).
A team of MDMC Kalimantan Selatan Tito Dwi Wirawan stated that the action was a disaster response. It was undertaken in collaboration with several parties to share aids as basic needs and hygiene kits.
“After receiving information of flood in Tanah Bumbu, we coordinated with a Muhammadiyah disaster shelter in Tanah Bambu,” declared Tito.
Tito added that besides 100 aid packages from LazisMu of Banjar and Banjarbaru, there are the other 100 packages from external parties, namely Baitul Maal, PLN Unit Induk Pembangunan Kalimantan Bagian Tengah,” mentioned Tito.
Due to the flood, dozens of villages in Tanah Bumby were engulfed. Indeed, some locations were remote so that they were difficult to reach.
