MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, MALAYSIA - Muhammadiyah Special Branch (PRIM) of Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia repatriated three Indonesian children stranded in Malaysia. They were from Medan, Sumatra Utara.
They were Kaisah (9), Aliyah (8), and Logo (4). Before returned to Medan, they were taken care by Secretary of PRIM of Kampung Baru Khoirur Rozikin since their mother was in Malaysia immigration detention due to a residence permit issue.
A Muhmmadiyah member living in Malaysia Darsun confirmed that their mother, Wenty, stayed in Malaysia illegally. After Wenty was under arrested, Khoirur Rozikin initiated to care about the children.
“During taking care of Pak Khoirur, the children were jubilant because they could mingle with children at the similar age and learn to recite Al-Qur’an at Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) Ar Rehlah Kampung Baru,” stated Darsun on a press release on Friday (28/6).
He provided the children their need such as food, clothes, and a dwelling. Indeed, they did not go back to his hometown, Lamongan-Jawa Timur, when Idul Fitri due to caring of the children.
After about a month, when having a breakfasting gathering with Muhammadiyah Special Branch of Malaysia at Rumah Dakwah, the children were found by the Education and Culture Attaché (Atdikbud) of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia Sonny Zulhuda.
Afterwards, on Wednesday (26/9), accompanied by leaderships of Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah of Malaysia, the children were repatriated through the Indonesian Embassy Counselor in Kuala Lumpur. Before their repatriation, they had a farewell party with the PRIM of Kampung Baru.
Additionally, the PRIM, LazisMu, Kokam, and an association under the PCIM of Malaysia raised funds and got eight million rupiahs. The funds, then, were given to a family of the children.
“On behalf of the PRIM of Kampung Baru and the children, we do apologize if we made mistakes. May Allah repay your kindness, and may these children be sholeh and sholehah,” wished Khoirur Rozikin.
