MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, MALAYSIA - In their visit to Perlis, Malaysia on 11-13 July, General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir and General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti attended a gathering with people of Perlis on Thursday evening (11/7) at Masjid Alwi.
In his remark, Haedar stated that Muhammadiyah as an Islamic movement promotes dakwah and tajdid missions. Muhammadiyah now possesses 166 higher education institutions.
“Insya Allah, we will cooperate with Perlis to establish a Muhammadiyah university,” declared Haedar.
He added that the visit aimed to have silaturahim with Tuanku Raja Perlis, religious figures of Perlis, and Muslims in Perlis.
Meanwhile, Abdul Mu’ti conveyed that Muhammadiyah can always evolve till now since the movement is consistent to Al-Qur’an and Hadith.
Indeed, Muhammadiyah believes that success and happiness can be achieved if we are faithful and charitable. Both aspects are related.
“Muhammadiyah charity is regarding not only an Islamic ritual (amaliah mahdoh) but also all activities of humans blessed by Allah. The activities are worth charity if they are performed in the name of Allah, they are in accordance with kaifiyyah, they are undertaken professionally as founding accountable charity, they benefit people, and they have islah dimensions, namely improvement and renewal,” mentioned Mu’ti.
