MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, SURAKARTA - Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif was inaugurated as the 25th professor of the UMS on Thursday (8/8).
He became the third professor of Educational Management at UMS after a four-month process of a professor’s proposal submission.
“We raised an issues of educational quality concerning with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)-based Teacher Competence in a disruption era,” mentioned Sofyan.
Some of educational issues are education seen as an actual issue, low teacher competences based on various surveys, rapid world civilization development particularly information technology development, and phenomena in Industrial Revolution 4.0., or even 5.0 in developed countries.
“The bad and good of a nation relies on the teachers. They are demanded to foster their potential and it is compulsory to alter a paradigm of teachers and governmental officials to keep pace with the development,” asserted Sofyan.
He contended that teachers are not the only learning sources so that they are required to be more qualified. They should possess high competitiveness, creativity, and innovation.
