MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla accompanied by Sultan Hamengkubuwono X visited a dwelling of General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah 2000-2005 Syafii Ma’arif on Thursday (15/8).

Buya Syafii informed that the Vice President came to his house to have silaturahmi and discuss national political issues.

“It was only silaturahim because I am just getting well after the surgery, and we had a small talk about politics,” stated Buya Syafii.

Buya Syafii added that they also talked about a recent condition of national economy including impacts of the US-China trade war on Indonesia.

It is said that, if the trade war occurs all the time, Indonesia will be affected. However, the Indonesian economy grows five percent.

“If the trade war continues, it brings negative impacts on the Indonesian economy, but our economy increases five percent,” declared Buya Syafii.
