MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JOMBANG - In the 120th Anniversary Commemoration of Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) Tebuireng, Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Dadang Kahmaad stated that Muhammadiyah dakwah in the term of charity (AUM) is a result of sincerity of all parties.
Dadang, who is also a professor of Religious Sociology at Universitas Islam Negeri Gunung Djati Bandung, told how the AUM can be established from Sabang to Merauke. He conveyed that the AUM success is a result of endeavors of all Muhammadiyah components from the center to branches.
“We attempt to build public trust through the AUM. Indeed, Muhammadiyah members’ sincerity is an essential aspect to evolve the AUM,” declared Dadang.
Besides, a belief to bring benefits for all people will perpetuate a dakwah organization including the AUM.
According to Dadang, Muhammadiyah as a dakwah movement seeks to enlighten and empower community through social change movement. Muhammadiyah is a kaffah Islamic movement, which focuses on all life aspects.
Muhammadiyah visions to educate this nation concern with three bases of civilization, namely humanity, science, and spirituality. These are absolute aspects to develop a nation. The humanity refers to awareness to acknowledge and treat humans as their dignity. Muhammadiyah as a movement possesses a vision to stand for mustadh’afin people.
Meanwhile, the science is a supporting aspect to create Islamic civilization development, and Islamic science/intellectual has strong legitimacy from Al-Qur’an and As-Sunnah.
“Muhammadiyah discerns science as the main aspect to enlighten, save, and achieve happiness and well-being. Last, the spirituality is high awareness which underlies the ethos of each life aspect. The spirituality is values creating and underlying a person to run their life,” explained Dadang.
