MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA - Supported by Office of Amil Zakat and Sadaqah of Muhammadiyah (Lazismu), the Zakat Forum (FOZ) handed over Certified Amil Certificates in the K.H. Ahmad Dahlan Hall of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, Jakarta on Monday (26/8).
The FOZ gave 125 certificates to 98 people of Amil Dasar, 12 people of Ahli Amil, and 15 assessors whose competences has been acknowledged by National Profession Certificate Board (BNSP).
General Chairman of the FOZ Bambang Suherman the certification is essential as a part of standardization and professionalization of amil zakat according to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI), which is expected that the profession of amil zakat will later be trusted by the public who would like to distribute zakat and alms.
The SKKNI is the main guideline which will be applied nationally to improve the quality of the amil zakat performance throughout Indonesia.
“The concept of the certification is very strategic and vital to implement. For one reason, there is a possibility of a regulation shift towards a standardization approach through the certification including the field of zakat management,”stated Bambang.
Furthermore, this certification was addressed as the earliest anticipatory step on the possibility of regulating the standardization of the profession of amil zakat by the government.
“It is most likely possible that this nation arranges requirements for zakat institutions to guarantee quality of their zakat management. For instance, the institutions are required to have the certain number of BNSP-certified people as amil dasar, amil madya, and amil ahli. If they do not meet the requirements, they cannot obtain their legal permit. I have thought about that,” inserted Bambang.
The standardization focuses on the system, zakat management, and qualification of the amil.
