Muhammadiyah and UNOCHA Collaborate in Conducting Training and Humanitarian Work

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA –The Central Board of Muhammadiyah welcomed a visit of Victoria Saiz-Omenaca Head of the United Nation Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Indonesia.

The head was greeted by General Secretary of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti and Deputy Secretary of Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC)

Muhammadiyah's Central Chair on Tuesday (27/8) received a visit from Victoria Saiz-Omenaca Head of Victoria Saiz-Omenaca Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) Indonesian office.

Malik informed that the visit aimed to have silaturahim and cooperation in fields of training and humanitarian work.

“We also discuss humanitarian development in the world such as Yemen and Syria,” stated Malik.

Muhammadiyah itself has played roles in international humanitarian missions as providing aids for Haiyan Hurricane in the Philippines and the Nepal Earthquake, conducting humanitarian activities in Bangladesh, Myanmar (Rakhine State), and being active participants in the meeting of the United Nations boards and the International Red Cross, and participating in trainings in Egypt, Bangkok, Singapore, India and the Philippines.
