MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA – Being a keynote speaker in the 91st anniversary commemoration of the Central Board of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah at Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (Uhamka), Governor of Daerah Khusus Ibukota (DKI) Jakarta Anies Baswedan expected that the Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah becomes the vanguard to cope with challenges in this changing world.
“That Muslims often get failed is not because they are not capable, but they cannot anticipate the rapid changes. I wish that Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah can conduct thoughtful discussions on potential of future shifts, and grows as the forefront in aspects of economy, social, and technology. If we do not prepare for the alterations, we will fail,” declared Anies.
He recommended that Naisyatul ‘Aisyiyah develop effective methods, particularly in education and parenting.
“We have to alter our mindset to practical. An investment of human resource development brings huge impacts. If women are developed, Insya Allah our nation is also developed. I hope that we promote a notion of women for this nation instead of women for themselves because they are responsible for their children, environment, and family,” asserted Anies.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Anwar Abbas wished that Aisyiyah could spend time well.
“We may not focus on the past, but we have to confront tough future challenges. This world is really dynamic, and time flies. 91 years have passed. We should be ready for the challenges, and I believe women play more essential central roles than men do,” conveyed Abbas.
