MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, SURAKARTA – Inaugurating SMP and SMA Muhamamdiyah Program Khusus (PK) Kota Barat, Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Mendikbud RI) Muhadjir Effendy highlighted that it is vital for students to create a soul of the education ecosystem so that the learning and teaching process can run well.

“Sekolah Program Khusus of Kota Barat has implemented the spirit of the education ecosystem in accordance with Ministerial Regulation (Permen) No. 75/2016 on School Committee,” declared Muhadjir on Friday (4/10).

What is the soul of the school committee? Muhadjir explained that the essential aspect is not developing the school committee, but the education ecosystem, namely the school, community, and family.

“When the three facets are related one another, a school will easily fortes students through the learning and teaching process. This view shows how the Sekolah Program Khusus of Kota Barat looks like,” asserted Muhadjir.

Besides, the school committee functions to boost a relationship among the schools, teachers, parents, and community. The community, in the context of Muhammadiyah, is Muhammadiyah Regional Board, Majlis of Primary and Secondary Education, and public.

The development and existence of the Sekolah Program Khusus of Kota Barat were appreciated by Ministry of Education and Culture for applying the Ministerial Regulation.

“The Sekolah Program Khusus of Kota Barat is established due to a support of the parents. Thus, I wish that the other schools would do the same,” he hoped.

Why should the school, family, and community synergize? The school will succeed educating the students without their family’s and community’s encouragement. This is what I call roles of the school committee.

Additionally, Muhadjir, who is also Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah for Education, Research, and Development, mentioned that the Ministerial Regulation on the School Committee aims to enact a school as a center or school-based management to run effectively.
