Masjid At-Tanwir, A Place for Performing Good Deeds

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA – The Central Board of Muhammadiyah conducted a groundbreaking of Masjid At-Tanwir at Muhammadiyah Office, Jalan Menteng Raya 62 Jakarta on Thursday (17/10).

The 6-floor masjid is environmentally friendly solar panel masjid.

In his remark, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla expected that the masjid can prosper community and enhance people’s awareness to be better.

He mentioned that Indonesia has 800,000 masjids and a great number of small mosques (musholla). He contended that all the mosques should be maintained well.

“It is necessary to manage the mosques to be better since, from them, people learn peace and are driven to perform good deeds,” asserted Jusuf Kalla, who is also Chairperson of the Indonesian Mosque Council 2012 – 2022.

He stated that the masjids play a lot of roles and bring optimism as well as goodness.

“What people do at the masjid is 80 percent of listening, while the other is performing worship. They listen to preaching, education, or announcement,” added Jusuf Kalla.

At the end of his speech, he thanked Muhammadiyah for its contribution.

“I would like to thank Muhammadiyah for the cooperation and support so that we can do the worship and gain many outputs to be fastabiqul khoirot,” he ended.

Additionally, the groundbreaking was attended by People’s Consultative Assembly Speaker Zulkifli Hasan, People’s Consultative Assembly Deputy Speaker Hidayat Nur Wahid, the Presidential Advisory Board (Wantimpres) Malik Fadjar, Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Syaifuddin, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti, Education and Culture Minister Muhadjir Effendy, and leaderships of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah.
