MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA – The Ambassador of the Republic of India H.E. Pradeep Kumar Rawat visited Muhammadiyah Office of Jakarta on Tuesday (22/10). The visit aimed to reinforce cooperation between India and Muhammadiyah.
Pradeep Kumar was admired Muhammadiyah for its persistence of developing Muhammadiyah education and health. As a country concerning with research, education, and health, India would like to collaborate with Muhammadiyah.
Besides, General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir warmly welcomed the visit and collaboration.
Muhammadiyah has cooperated with India in areas of student exchange, cultural exchange, and the establishment of India Corner at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
“I have been working in Indonesia for two years, and I am amazed by Muhammadiyah. Government of India provides 1,000 scholarships for master’s degree programs except a medical program. However, we only have 200 applicants. Indonesians have a huge occasion to gain the scholarships,” declared Pradeep.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti welcomed the new cooperation areas.
“I heard that India are excellent at sciences and technology. We may collaborate in areas of education and health, and have cooperation between Muhammadiyah universities and Indian universities,” conveyed Mu’ti.
