MUHAMMADIYAH. ID, JAKARTA - Muhammadiyah regards  a prerogative right of President Jokowi to select members the Indonesia Onward Cabinet (Kabinet Indonesia Maju). Muhammadiyah also congratulates on the inauguration.

Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Dadang Kahmad the statement was a response to news telling that Muhammadiyah is dissatisfied with the members of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet.

“Indeed, Muhamamdiyah thanks President Jokowi for choosing Prof. Muhadjir Effendy to be Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs.

Thus, Dadang inserted that all statements regarding the members of the cabinet except from General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir do not represent Muhamamadiyah.

Dadang advised all Muhammadiyah members and cadres not to declare political statements dealing with the cabinet and national issues against identity and policy of Muhamamdiyah.

Dadang, an expert in comparative religions, emphasized that Muhamamdiyah is not a political organization and remains concerning with social movements performing missions of dakwah and tajdid or renewal for the development of the people, nation, and humanity in accordance with a mission of Islam, rahmatan lil ‘alamin.
