Reviving Moral Values

MUHAMMADIYAH. ID, SEMARANG – General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir encouraged audiences of ‘Jateng  Bermunajat’ to create Indonesia as a country of baldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghafur.

Thus, people, particularly Muhammadiyah members, should hand in glove to develop this nation, or at least pray for this country.

“People Ibrahim prayed for both himself and his country. Hence, we need to pray for this nation so that Allah blesses this nation. Besides praying, we also have to endeavor,” declared Haedar on Saturday (26/10) at Lapangan Pancasila, Simpang Lima, Semarang.

He mentioned four aspects to raise the endeavor. First, we have to always revive iman (faith) and taqwa (fear of Allah). Second, the citizens should have good behaviors.

“Those aspects are parts of Muhamamdiyah missions, and should begin now on. In the era of social media, moral values gradually vanish. Therefore, resuscitating the virtues are vital in all fields,” emphasized Haedar.

Third, this nation will be safer and more blessed if the people are knowledgeable.

“We have to broaden our horizons. Muhammadiyah’s educational institutions are Muhammadiyah’s contribution to educate this nation,” added Haedar.

Fourth, this nation be safer and more blessed if the people perform good deeds.

“We should become pioneers to do good without expecting the return. In ahsantum, ahsantum lianfusikum. Wa in asa’tum, falaha. If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves,” asserted Haedar.
