MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, MERAUKE – A command to read (iqra) mentioned on Al-Qur’an is supported by many verses regarding sciences (elevating degrees) and hadith to study. Allah rewards believers who endeavor to learn.

In his preaching at Masjid Raya Al-Aqsa, Merauke on Sunday (3/11), Secretary of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Agung Danarto declared that grasping knowledge drives people to learn, and reading is the main pillar to the development of a civilization.

 “Confronting backwardness of Islam is through knowledge,” stated Agung.

Western countries can be developed and can govern the civilization because of mastery of science and technology.

“The western countries can be strong and administer Islamic world and this world,” added Agung.

Islam should use Al-Qur’an and sunnah as guidance to evolve.

“We need to habituate to be learners and to enhance our comprehension of science and technology. This digital era eases us to access science wherever and whenever we are,” emphasized Agung.

Additionally, Agung conveyed that dakwah should be undertaken sincerely and persistently.

Prophet Muhammad SAW teaches us not to do violence and revenge ones who refused his teachings.

“Indeed, Prophet Muhammad prayed for them in order that they got guidance,” told Agung.

He emphasized that monotheism is the main principle of Islam.

“The monotheism is the teaching of equality and degree equality,” asserted Agung.
