MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, MALANG– General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhamamdiyah Haedar Nashir attended a commemoration of the 107th anniversary of Muhammadiyah conducted by Muihammadiyah Regional Board of Malang (PDM) on Sunday (4/11) in Lapangan K.H. Ahmad Dahlan.
Haedar told that the anniversary celebration raises a theme of ‘Educating the Life of the Nation’ since it represents Muhammadiyah which has been established for almost two centuries. This movement has contributed to educate this nation through its charities in a field of education and Muhammadiyah figures to bring changes for this nation.
Haedar emphasized that Muhammadiyah does not merely focus on changing people’s way of thinking to educate this nation.
“Muhammadiyah concerns with civilizing the people, culture, and system,” declared Haedar.
He added that edifying this nation is a command of an Islamic teaching.
Thus, Muhammadiyah should have a tradition to educate the members, society, and universe.
Haedar inserted that it has been 107 years for Muhammadiyah to drive this civilization.
To maintain the civilization, Haedar required all Muhammadiyah members to always cultivate their faith to remain alive and dynamic.
“The faith can get stronger or lower so that we may not think that our faith is stable and feel we are the most religious people. For Muhammadiyah people, the faith is represented in both words and actions,” asserted Haedar.
Additionally, the commemoration was attended by Chair of PDM of Malang Regency, Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Chairperson of DPRD of Malang Regency, and Police Chief of Malang Regency. Besides, in the commemoration, Haedar signed an inscription to mark the establishment Masjid K.H. Ahmad Dahlan.
