MDMC treated 2071 flash-flood victims at Garut

Garut-Medical Service in Garut district has been running since last May 8, 2011started from PKU Muhammadiyah Bandung with 8personnel (4 nurses, 3 assessment officer, 1driver) and1ambulance, then followed by PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Kebumen with 5 personnel of medical teams, 1ambulance, 2 rubber boats, the engine generator set, anddrugs, as well as Amanah Wangon Hospital with 5 personnel (3 persons from medical team, 2 persons from rescue team) and drugs.

It was expressed by member of central executive of the Disaster Management Institute of Muhammadiyah, BudiSantoso, found at Muhammadiyah office, Jl. Cik  Di TiroNo. 23 Yogyakarta, on Wednesday (11/05/2011). According to Budi, current number of flood victims treated by Muhammadiyah health teams, total of 2071people residingin 6 villages in 4 Districts. Budi explained that from Medical team data, it has made treatment of Mongkong Bojong village, region of Pameungpeuk: number of patients75 people, in theVillage Sukapura: number of patients447peoplein the village of Cikelet: number of patient 350 people, in the village Segleng: number of patients 589 people, in Karangsari village: 413 male patients, Mongkong Bojong village the next day: 80 patients in villages CibalongI: 84 patients in the village CibalongII: 34 patients, and on 10 May in the village Segleng: 83 patients, total patients treated by MDMC Medical Team were: 2071people.

According to Budi Santoso, the health response would be done on emergency response and rehabilitati on phases: to send second medic tem next 12 -May 19, 2011, third sending on 19 -May 26, 2011.
