MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA– The new National Police chief (Kapolri) Idha Azis and his staffs had silaturahim to the Muhammadiyah office, Jakarta on Thursday (21/11).
They were welcomed by General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir; Chairs of Central Board of Muhammadiyah Syafiq Mughni, Anwar Abbas, Taufiqurrahman; and Secretary of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Agung Danarto.
The visit aimed at reinforcing synergy between the police and a social organization.
Division Head of the National Police Irjen Mohammad Iqbal stated that the visit was addressed to maintain a good relationship with Muhammadiyah.
According to the Kapolri, Muhammadiya is more just a religious movement. It is a national power which actively fosters and educates this nation. Many Muhammadiyah figures contributed to achieve the independence of this nation.
“We may not doubt Muhmmadiyah’s contribution to develop this nation. We can notice thousands of Muhammadiyah schools and educational institutions,” declared Iqbal.
“Muhammadiyah is one of the essential partners of the Polri that actively is engaged in maintaining public order and security through the education, and disseminates Islamic values in accordance with aqidah and norms of akhlakul karimah to create a peaceful social life.
