MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, SIDOARJO– General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir attended the 107th Anniversary Commemoration of Muhammadiyah organized by the Provincial Executive (PWM) of Jawa Timur on Saturday (23/11) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA).
In his remark, Haedar talked about situations and development of this nation and the people that entail sustainable efforts to educate them.
It is the matters of not only edifying the people but all the entire nation.
“The education refers to fostering culture, improving behaviors, and building a civilized and civilizing system of the life of the nation. Thus, this anniversary raises a theme of ‘Muhammadiyah Mencedaskan Kehidupan Bangsa’ (Muhammadiyah Educates the Life of This Nation),” explained Haedar.
Regarding the spiritual, moral, intellectual, and social intelligence, Haedar maintained that the spiritual and moral quotient is dealing with morals, while intelligence quotient refers to cognitive intelligence, and the social intelligence is about social.
“Furthermore, we expect that Indonesia can be developed and sovereign, independent, and superior. The developed nation possesses a dimension of educating the nation,” conveyed Haedar.
He also mentioned approaches of Islamic understanding based on Muhammadiyah teachins, namely bayani, burhani, and irfani.
“Hence, Muhammadiyah leaders and cadres, as well as leaders of Muhammadiyah charity and services may not follow the mainstream fundamentally different from Muhammadiyah,” he emphasized.
Header added that Muhammadiyah people should adhere to identity, goals, and ideology of Muhammadiyah which has become strengths of this movement.
Indeed, Muhammadiyah can be established to date due to the ideology.
“Our goals and identity may not hamper us, they should become our driver,” declared Haedar.
Additionally, at the same occasion Haedar inaugurated Gedung Kuliah Bersama (GKB) III UMSIDA by signing an inscription. Heaedar accompanied by Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, Governor of Jawa Timur Khafigah Indar Parawansa, Chair of PWM of Jawa Timur Saad Inrahim, and Rector of UMSIDA Hidayatullah also launched Persatuan Sepak Bola Hizbul Wathan (Hizbul Wathan Football Club) of Jawa Timur.
