MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, ANKARA – General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashirand his entourage visited Ankara, Turkey on Monday (11/25)after receiving an invitation from President Turkiye Scholarships Burslari (YTB).
Haedar stated Turkey and Indonesia has cooperated since the 13th and 15th century. Thus, the cooperation should be enhanced.
“Both countries have possessed good relations which should be expanded particularly in a field of education,” declared Haedar.
Hence, Haedar warmly welcomed the invitation to enhance relations between Turkey and Indonesia, particularly Muhammadiyah.
He also invited Abdullah to visit Indonesia.
“We would like to invite President of the YTB to come to Indonesia. Insya Allah, once you visit our country, you will come back,” conveyed Haedar.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Lalu Muhammad Iqbal maintained that the great relations can be established due to the people instead of the government. Therefore, Indonesia government boosts Muhammadiyah as a socio-religious movement tom maintain the relations between Turkey and Indonesia through the educational collaboration.
Besides, in his remark President of YTB Abdullah Eren appreciated the meeting with General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyahand his entourage.
He believed that Indonesia is one of the foci of the partnerships between the YTB Turkey. Having the greatest Muslims in the world, Indonesia is a strategic educational partner, particular for us to allot scholarships.
“Alhamdulillah, this year the number of awardees is higher than that of the previous year. Insya Allah, we will increase it,” informed Abdullah.
In addition, the two-hour meeting was attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey, Secretary of Muhammadiyah, Chair and Secretary of Majlis of Higher Education, Research, and Development, fourteen rectors of Muhammadiyah higher education institutions, four headmasters, and Director of Suara Muhammadiyah.
