MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA – Security Council of the Republic of Maldives and International Republican Instituted visited Muhammadiyah Office of Jakarta on Tuesday (10/12).
Welcomed by Chairman of Muhammadiyah Syafiq Mughni, Country Director IRI John Kachtik, Head of Security Council of the Republic of Maldives Brigadier General Zakaria Masyur and his entourage stated a number of issues in the Maldives and asked how Muhammadiyah overcomes the similar problems.
Syafiq Mughni explained that dialogue and education are the foremost aspects to create religious moderation. It also requires persistence and great morals in social practices.
“The Maldives is really idealized so that education of diversity, ijtihad, and mutualism should exist there. Education is the most crucial aspect,” emphasized Syafiq.
Besides, he presented moderation of Muhammadiyah, concepts, foci, and strategies of Muhammadiyah to empower people, enlightening Islam, and Muhammadiyah contributions to this nation.
“In the Maladives, many people graduating from different Islamic schools contend that their belief is absolute. It leads to intolerance. Thus, this visit is essential and I wish Muhammadiyah parties could come to the Maldives,” expressed one of the entourages.
