MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, BANTUL - Jusuf Kalla (JK) appreciated the inauguration of General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir as Professor of Sociology of Univesitas Muhamamdiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) on Thursday (12/12).

“Haedar is acknowledged as a professor due to his devotion to educational and social fields,” declared JK.

Thus, what Haedar stated was essential, particularly when he talked about people’s views on radicalism.

“Because of radicalism, in terms of reform, we are here now. New Order is radicalism of Old Order,” conveyed JK.

JK also appreciated Haedar who invited to think about moderation instead of deradicalization.

“We have to grasp the moderation since it is a moderate mean of this nation,” maintained JK.

Additionally, the inauguration was also attended by a number of figures such as Buya Syafi’i Maarif, Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture, Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Cooperative and Small-Medium Enterprises, politicians, and Muhammadiyah as well as ‘Aisyiyah leaders.
