MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, BANTUL – Majlis of Environment of Muhammadiyah expects Hizbul Wathan as a scout to become environmental carders of Muhammadiyah. The expectation was uttered in the last session of Environmental Cadre Training conducted at Unires of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) on Sunday (22/12).
Vice Chair of the Majlis of Environment Muhammad Nurcholis hoped the cadres could implement what they obtained during the training in their daily life.
Besides, the environmental cadres of Muhammadiyah can enlighten young generation who will be future leaders since they are khalifah fi lard.
“Preserving environment is regarding leading not only today’s era but also the future. Thus, the training is essential for young generation,” declared Nurcholis.
Nurcholis believed that environmental cadres of Muhammadiyah from Hizbul Wathan can disseminate the significance of protecting the environment and implement environmental programs.
He also inaugurated and led the cadres to take an oath saying:

1. Menjadikan kepanduan lingkungan sebagai bagian dari gaya hidup kami dalam keseharian
(To cause the environmental scout as a part of our lifestyle)
2. Berperan aktif dalam penyebaran dan pemiasaan kepedulian lingkugan dimanapun berada
(To take active roles in disseminating and habituating environmental awareness wherever we are)
3. Bersungguh-sungguh menjalankan tugas khalifah fil ardhi atau pemimpin di muka bumi sebagai penjaga lingkungan.
(To perform our duties sincerely as khalifah fil ardhi –a successive authority on earth- and as environmental caretakers)

Afterwards, Nurcholis gave a pin and certificate to the cadres to show that they were officially inaugurated as environmental cadres of Muhammadiyah.
