MPI Conducts a Journalistic Contest of Fachrodin Award

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA - Majlis of Library and Information (MPI) of Muhammadiyah conducts a journalistic contest of Fachrodin Award 2020 to enliven the 48th Congress of Muhammadiyah.

Deputy Chief of the MPI Ahmad Najib stated that the contest raises a theme of “Kiprah Muhammadiyah dalam Memajukan Umat dan Bangsa” (Muhammadiyah’s Contributions to the People and Nation). It is aimed at boosting hidden roles of Muhammadiyah activists in local levels bringing huge impacts on people around them.

“News of Muhammadiyah’s national figures is commonly from Jakarta and Yogayarakta. In fact, endeavors of Muhammadiyah’s local figures are tougher. Many of them are from various ethnics from Arabic to Chinese, but they are rarely exposed,” declared Najib.

“Muhammadiyah reached Madura and Pagar Alam in 1914 and 1915 respectively. If it is documented, people will know Muhammadiyah’s struggles in rural areas at its early establishment,” stated Ahmad Najib.

Roni, an initiator of the Fachrodin Award 2020 revealed that the contest also points out to appreciate Haji  Fachrodin for his dakwah through a magazine of Suara Muhammadiyah.

“Three years after the establishment of Muhammadiyah, Haji Fachruddin was the one who encouraged Kyai Dahlan in order that Muhammadiyah has media. At the moment, it was a long-term vision for the dakwah of Muhammadiyah,” explained Roni.

Additionally, the contest is open for public with a prize of 32 billion rupiahs. It is organized from Januari to May 2020, and the winner awarding will be undertaken at Muhammadiyah’s 48th congress in Surakarta, Jawa Tengah.
