Muhammadiyah Will Always Assist Government in Confronting the COVID-19

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – In a discussion with Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Vice Chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Covid Command Center (MCCC) Aldila Al Arfa declared that Muhammadiyah will always be ready to assist government’s multifaceted programs in coping with a COVID-19 outbreak.

“We wish that government does not doubt to synergize with Muhammadiyah. This movement would put all-out attempts for humanity since it is the foremost vigor of Muhammadiyah. We are delighted to help government. Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah will always help government heal people,” asserted Al Arfa in a webinar on ‘Strategies to Reinforce Health Service Systems to Confront COVID-19’ on Thursday (30/4).

Since the first COVID-19 case emerged in Indonesia on 2 March 2020, Muhammadiyah immediately established the MCCC in the following three days and provided 20 COVID-19 referral hospitals. Until now, Muhammadiyah serves 72 referral hospitals and offers 107 Muhammadiyah-owned assets.

Furthermore, Head of Sub-Directorate of Emergency of the Ministry of Health Asral Hasan thanked Muhammadiyah for its initiative. 9 of the Muhmmadiyah referral hospitals are included in 668 referral hospitals assigned by government.

“The hospitals comply with standards. I would like to express my gratitude for all Muhammadiyah’s assistance to government. The Ministry of Health highly appreciated the efforts including what the MCCC has undertaken to encounter this pandemic,” maintained Asral.
