Confronting A negative Excess, Nasyi’atul ‘Aisyiyah Promotes a Family Resilience Program

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Nasyiatul ‘Aisyiyah (PPNA) considered that a family resilience program is necessary.

“A family is the smallest unit to build national resilience. Unfortunately, some of us think that family matters is privacy,” declared Chairwoman of the PPNA Norma Sari in a webinar conducted Muhammadiyah COVID-19 Command Center (MCCC) on Tuesday (23/6).

Noticing the fact, during this COVID-19 pandemic a program of “Keluarga Muda Tangguh Nasyi’atul ‘Aisyiyah” (KTMNA) collaborates with the MCCC to provide COVID-19-affected people spiritual and psychological counseling.

“We need productive and innovative. May what we have done benefit other people. Tangguh means being not only ‘tough’ but also ‘consistent’,” she stated due to her concern on about the high divorce rate at a young age.

Furthermore, a senior staff of Presidential Staff Office Brian Sriprahastuti worried about the increasing number of mental health and domestic violence cases that many children and women become the victims.

“368 domestic violence cases done by parents to their children occurred. The number is the noticed ones. There must be something overlooked. All elements of this nation have responsibility to prevent the issues to happen,” conveyed Brian. She also appreciated the PPNA for concentrating on reinforcing principles and strategies to comply with children’s rights and protection as well as family resilience.

Besides, Deputy Secretary of the MCCC Deni Wahyudi Kurniawan contended the significance of parenting and family resilience. Each parent should discern a family as a small organization which should be well-planned.

“Many families do not equip themselves as an organization which should be well-managed. They do not possess strategic plans so that they do are not ready to face problems,” he asserted.

In addition, Norma expected that each member of a family should play their roles in various aspects so that they can adapt to this pandemic.

“The challenges are to find out adaptation acceleration patterns, to continue positive family learning, to maintain good lifestyles, to create hygiene lifestyles, and to prepare for social safety net,” she mentioned.
