Enthusiasm for Webinars and Productivity

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – In this COVID-10 pandemic and industrial revolution 4.0, people are getting familiar with digital, information technology and social media. One of the new cultures is a webinar, a seminar conducted over the internet. People are enamored of webinars.

General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir conveyed that the webinar is a positive habit. People become active in sharing knowledge and information so that their thoughts are wider and more advanced.

“Webinars in a business can be marketing for organizers to add leads, ones attracted to products or services. The more people or institutions conduct webinars, the higher the number of leads is,” declared Haedar on Thursday (2/7).

The webinar turns an effective medium to promote ourselves and our products to public. It can also drive masses to share the same thoughts as the organizer’s. It brings a lot of benefits in economy, politics, culture, religion, ideology, and other interests.

Haedar contended that this digital era is novelty in the 21st century. Thus, to confront the era, people should possess adequate knowledge, technology, and skills. Indeed, they should have maturity, awareness, and mentality so that they can remain productive subjects instead of consumers.

“We have to be critical consumers and take lessons from the webinar. It should not be consumeristic and for fun. It is not a new game which makes us neglect our duties,” asserted Haedar.

The webinar can be utilized as a medium for improving self-development and constructing positive environment. Hence, they gain a lot of knowledge, right information, and understanding which are educating, developing, and enlightening. It may also create a reading habit.

“Indeed, the webinar may enhance productivity so that people can coin something valuable for themselves, other people, this nation, and universal humanity,” hoped Haedar.

“Furthermore, the webinar may become a medium for Muhammadiyah people to foster this movement. As mentioned on QS Ash Shaff verse 3, ‘Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do’,” asserted Haedar.

The webinar brings impacts on this movement. However, all Muhammadiyah members and leaderships may not overlook their duties due to joining the webinar. They have to ensure that they keep performing programs of Muhammadiyah, ‘Aisyiyah, Muhammadiyah autonomous organizations, majlis, offices, charity, and services so that Muhamamdiyah remains moving despite confronting this COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is similar to a condition that we are concerned about foreign issues, but we always prioritize our responsibilities in Muhammadiyah. We need to commit to this movement,” emphasized Haedar.
