MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – General Chairwoman of the Central Board of ‘Aisyiyah Siti Noordjanah Djohantini stated that all ‘Aisyiyah programs will not cease except society refuses the programs.
“Nevertheless, it has never occurred that ‘Aisyiyah programs are rejected,” informed Noordjannah in a webinar with country representative of the Asia Foundation of Indonesia on Sunday (30/8).
In fact, each program of ‘Aisyiyah could be expanded. For instance, an ‘Aisyiyah program was targeted to two or three areas. Eventually merits of the programs could widely be obtained.
According to Noordjannah, ‘Aisyiyah programs could be successful due to persistence and sincerity of ‘Aisyiyah women. The programs are undertaken as worship to Allah instead of complying with administrative duties.
“Thus, every program is a contribution of Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah to people,” stated Noordjannah.
During this pandemic, Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah become movements which quickly respond to effects of the COVID-19. Having holistic views, Muhammadiyah pays attention on each aspect to make a decision.
For example, regarding implementation of health protocols Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah provide some protocols and guidance of worship. Muhammadiyah never neglect reality, people and this nation.
“It is impossible not to love this country. Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah are a part of this nation. Hence, all members of these movements should believe that we belong to this nation,” she asserted.
Love to this homeland means that Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah may not turn back it when confronting issues and have to offer solutions.
“This pandemic is not over yet, and we have to reflect what we have done to save this nation, our brothers and sisters, and ourselves,” asserted Noordjannah.
She also advised people not to blame religion because of failure and today’s issues. Religion should be a trigger to resolve the problems without ignoring science.
‘Aisyiyah as a mother of this nation always get engaged in solving issues and becomes consistent to perform its best for this nation, particularly children and women.
“Jihad is now not only carrying firearms but also khidzun nafs (saving lives),” emphasized Noordjannah.
Contributions of ‘Aisyiyah to this nation are carried out through several means such as synergizing with parties caring of this nation.
