MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – The passing of Prof. A. Malik Fadjar became the great loss of his friends, colleagues, Muhammadiyah cadres, and many people from all groups.

On his Facebook and Instagram, K.H. Ahmad Mustofa Bistri, well-known as Gus Mus, offered his condolence of the passing of Prof. Malik Fadjar, who was Former Minister of Religious Affairs 1998-1999.

Gus Mus, an educator at Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) of Raudlatuh Tholibin Rembang, stated that Indonesia lost the best person. He prayed that Allah gives Prof. Malik Fadjar the best place.

“Innã liLlãhi wainnã ilaiHi rãji'uun ... My nice brother as well as a sincere figure Prof. H. A. Malik Fadjar passes away. May Allah place him in a noble place. Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu wa'ãfihi wa'fu 'anhu. Al-Fatihah,” wrote Gus Mus on his social media accounts on Tuesday (8/9).

Gus Mus, Former Rais Aam of Nahdlatul Ulama, wished that Prof. Malik’s family may be patient and let him go peacefully.

“AzhzhamaLlãhu ajrahum wa ahsana' azã-ahum,” added Gus Mus.

The body is buried in Taman Makam Pahlawan Kalibata, Jakarta Selatan this afternoon.
