MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir advised all parties to refrain themselves from everything disconcerting during this pandemic.
“We have to go hand in hand to create peace and unity, confront the pandemic that the number of cases including what occurred to health workers is increasing, and solve issues of this nation. If we only blame one another, blaspheme, and get others down, our burdens get harder and Indonesia will fall on a crisis,” asserted Haedar on Monday (14/9).
Thus, Haedar prompted government, the House of Representatives, the judiciary, the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police (POLRI), all governmental institutions, and all elements of this nation to introspect, conduct dialog, and coin unity.
“The pandemic and national issues cannot be overcome by one party only. They require us to work together. We need to improve wrong actions without feeling powerful and self-righteous. Now we should prioritize the unity of Indonesia, togetherness, self-reflection, and responsibility,” conveyed Haedar.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic which brings enormous impacts on all aspects, it is vital to accentuate the unity and deliberation as mentioned on the third and fourth principles of Pancasila.
“During this pandemic, all officials and elites should cease declaring debatable statements or taking controversial actions which trigger endless conflicts, public complaints, riots, breaks, and polarization in this nation,” emphasized Haedar.
He also insisted the elites to put the most crucial aspects over the crucial ones and to leave unimportant ones and everything which raises greater burdens. They should prevent and avert all depravity which brings huge loss to the life of this nation.
“The state and the people should not impose their will which drives breaks, restlessness, damage, and destruction of this nation,” ended Haedar.
