MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, PALANGKARAYA – General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir congratulated Universitas Muhammadiyah (UM) Palangkarya on the 33rd anniversary on Wednesday (30/9). He also gave his support for the UM Palangkaraya to be a center of excellence.
UM Palangkaraya and 163 Muhammadiyah and 'Aisyiyah higher education institutions are expected to benefit people and this nation.
“Muhammadiyah education does not distinguish religions, groups, and ethnicities. Muhammadiyah charity and services exist to be valuable for others,” declared Haedar.
Thus, to be the center of excellence, firstly UM Palangkaraya should be above average in several aspects as academic quality, research, community service, and humanity.
“Second, if UM Palangkaraya would like to be an excellent university, it should possess different qualitative strengths. Third, the university should contribute to science, research, community, and humanity,” mentioned Haedar. He added that the university should cultivate science, morals, and technology use.
“It is necessary to perform organizational consolidation and movement revitalization including role reinforcement of UM Palangkaraya in society. Insya Allah, everything will be blessed if we play roles and love the people as a part of us,” advised Haedar.
Last, he suggested UM Palangkaraya to be patient to supervise students.
“I wish Muhammadiyah in Kalimantan Tengah, including UM Palangkaraya, could be better, gain greater public trust, and work together with community. Besides, may all of actions undertaken by UM Palangkarya be a dakwah stimulus and enlighten people in Kalimantan Tengah,” he hoped.
