New Interpretation of the Al Ma'un needed: Din

Malang- General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Din Syamsuddin opening National Congress revealed the need for a new interpretation of the Al-Maun. "The concept of Orphans keywords containing in the verses of Al-Maun no longer means losing a parent, but could be interpreted homeless, unemployed, or prostitutes. Poverty is not just wealth but also the poor cultivation, poor of science. This has been a target of dakwah (Islam Calling) of Muhammadiyah, "he explained.

This was expressed by Din Syamsuddin in his opening speech at a national congress and Community Dialogue organized by the Council for Community Empowerment (MPM) PP Muhammadiyah at University of Malang, Saturday (05/21/2011)

Furthermore, Din said that the need for a broader target was not only to strengthen the foundation of culture, but also put as an emergency response to cope with problems in today's modern era, where the problem with potential social impact was not only a social disease, but a social problem. Therefore, Din called Muhammadiyah as an enlightening movement with ethos that had helped the general misery and spread the benefits and was useful for the people as well.


In its dimensions, MPM became liberators, not only on the conviction missionary, but also the liberator of humanity, poverty, backwardness, and stupidity. "MPM dimension was also to promote community empowerment," said Din.

Acara ini diikuti kurang lebih 150 peserta dari MPM PWM se-Indonesia, LPM PTM, perwakilan dari Fakultas Pertanian, Peternakan, dan Perikanan PTM, dan Pimpinan Daerah Muhammadiyah se-Malang Raya.

The event was attended by approximately 150 participants from MPM PWM throughout Indonesia, and representatives from the Faculty of Agriculture, Livestock, and PTM Fisheries, and the Muhammadiyah regional executive boards across Malang.
