Government Should Engage in Dialogs to Discuss the Omnibus Law

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA - The enactment of the Job Creation Bill (RUU) into a Law (UU) by the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia led to mass actions in various regions.

General Secretary of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti contended that the demonstrations are supposed to prompt government to fathom psychological condition and public disappointment.

“They need to have dialogues with all elements, particularly the ones against the law,” asserted Mu’ti in an interview on Thursday (8/10).

He also urged the government not to apply an authoritative approach.

“The government should elude to implement the approach and prioritize to engage in dialogs with parties against the law,” declared Mu’ti.
