Muhammadiyah: Raise Awareness of Ta’awun to Assist Turkey and Greece

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – A magnitude 7.0 struck Izmir, Turkey on Friday (30/10).

Responding to the emergency, General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah  Haedar Nashir prompted all elements of this nation to assist disaster-affected victims.

“We encourage all Muslims and Indonesian people to put their humanity into actions to help our Turkish and Greek brothers and sisters,” declared Haedar on Saturday (31/10).

He expected that Indonesian government would immediately play its roles as a friendly country and collaborate to ease burdens of Indonesian people in Turkey and Greece affected by the disaster.

“May the condition get better and may their life become normal soon,” wished Haedar.

Until this afternoon, the earthquake rendered small tsunami, 24 deaths, and more 804 injured. The Turkish government is attempting to rescue people under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
