MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Academic members of Madrasah Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta participated in a public lecture on “Roles of Mu’allimin in Determining the Nation’s Direction” on Sunday (1/11).

The live-streaming lecture, which public could join via Zoom and Youtube, presented Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Prof. Dr. Muhajir Effendy.

He stated that Mu’allimin students should recognize history of their school so that they would have pride of it.

“We may not let them not to be proud of their school and its history because it is an intrinsic asset which is much more essential than other aspects,” asserted Muhadjir.

Furthermore, he advised the students and alumni of Mu'allimin to have goals, idealism, and big dreams to take part in the dynamics of the nation's life.

"Each student and alumnus should possess life plans, dream big, be persistent, and not easily give up. Be cadres of ulema, the people, and leaders who are inclusive, accommodating, and nurturing as exemplified by Kyai Dahlan so that they can become great leaders welcomed by any group,” declared Muhajir.

He added that the school members should be delighted to have huge figures as Kyai Dahlan, A.R. Fachruddin, Buya Syafi’i Maarif, Malik Fajar, and others since their non-exclusivity have made great contributions to lead the people.
