Improving Capacity, MDMC sends teams to a joint training with BNPB and TNI

Yogyakarta– In improving capacityof responding to disaster, Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) PP Muhammadiyah or Disaster Management Agency will send teams to participate in joint exercises of the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) together with soldiers from the Army Navy KRI.

This was said by public relation of MDMC Machhendra Setyo Atmaja, met at Muhammadiyah Yogyakartahead office, on Tuesday (24/05/2011). Machhendra said that, BNPB held joint exercises will be of great benefits in improving MDMCrescue capacity, both from the medical element, SAR, psychosocial, and logistics. "We will send a team of 10 good people, from medical elements, SAR, or psychosocial as well as logistics, which are indeed pillars of strength of MDMC managing disaster," he explained. According to Machhendra, joint training activities will be concentrated in the area of ​​TanjungPriuk, and Damar Island in the Thousand Islands, involving 300 personnel from several agencies and government elements.

Further, Machhendraadded, materials that will be given in training in Jakarta later, consisting of the Cluster Skill, Sea and Jungle Survival, to maritime issues as extra lessons. Implementation of the exercise will start on 28 and 31 May 2011, supported by medical teams from RSIJ Pondok Kopi.
