Yogyakarta-There might be differences in setting 1Shawwal 1432 Hijri, the Muhammadiyah people are supposeed to keep on reckoning the decree from the Legal Affairs Committee and Tajdid of Muhammadiyah central executive which had already set a Shawwal 1432 Hon August 30, 2011. Difference methods applied by the government might lead to different settlement expectedly on August 31, 2011.

This was stated bythe Legal Affairs Committee and Tajdid vice chairman of Muhammadiyah Central executive OmanFaturrahman, in a press conference setting the start of Ramadan, Shawwal and Dhu al-Hijjah year 1432 Hijri held in the central leadership buildingof Muhammadiyah Jl. Cik Di Tiro no.23 Jakarta, Thursday (14/07/2011). In the pressconference, Oman Fatuttahman accompanied by the chairman of Muhammadiyah Yunahar Ilyas delivering decree of the initial determination of Ramadan, Shawwal and Dhu al-Hijjah, and the appeal during the coming Ramadan for  Muhammadiyah people and Muslims in general. Regarding the possibility of different setting of 1 Shawwal 1432H, Oman said, as long as the government used Imkanu Rukyat which required two degrees, then the difference would definitely happen. "Up to the recent, Muhammaidyah uses the Wujudul Hilal method which means any degree, when the new moon has been in its existence, then certainly the next day is the beginning of the month," he explained.

Furtheraccording to Oman, direct looking or rukyat method would be very difficult to be implemented if the height of the new moon was still below 5 degrees, whereas later 1 Shawwal 1432 H, the height of the new moon would be still in position 1 degree. "So far, astronomers are still doubted of human ability in seeing the new moon positioned less than 5 degrees, the new seeing moon record to the date is at 5 degrees," he said.
