Muhammadiyah Ramadhan Recitation accross East Java at UMM to attend BJ Habibie

As held last year, UMM would host the Ramadhan recitation conducted by the East Java Muhamadiyah Regional executive (PWM). The recitation would be held at UMM Dome from Saturday to Sunday (8/13-14).

UMM had its own committee in welcoming about 1000 guests. They were the Muhammadiyah people from regions accross East Java. "The event will last for two days, so we are also to prepare the accomodation," said the Vice Rector II Drs. Mursidi, MM, in a committee coordination, last Saturday (7/29).

The accomodation would be not only at Students Dome I, but also at GKB II. Those classes at GKB would be rooms for participants to spend the night. It was what the committee had done on the 45th Muktamar Muhammadiyah at UMM on 2005.

The secretary of East Java PWM Drs. Najib Hamid, MSi, stated that the event would be attended by some local and national figures, such as the former Indonesian president BJ Habibie, Busyro Muqoddas, the East Java Governor Soekarwo, Din Syamsuddin, Malik Fadjar, Muhammad Muqoddas, Syafiq Mughny, Thohir Luth, Saad Ibrahim, and the Jawa Post director Rohman Budijanto.

This year Ramadhan recitaion was to bring out varied interesting issues such as economy empowerment, technology management strategy for community walfare, law enforcement issue, as well as spirituality in Muhammadiyah. "The issues will be discussed by competent speakers in their field," said Najiv

According to the schedule, the event would be opened by general chariman of Muhammadiyah central executive, Din Syamsuddin in the noon. Though the participants were predicted to already came in the morning. The Governor was sheduled to join the fasting break time with PWM and attend the recitation.

In the evening, before the tarawih pray , BJ Habibie accompanied by Malik Fadjar would deliver their speeches. Meanwhile, Busyro Muqoddas together with Bambang Wodjojanto had their turns, just before continued by Muhammad Muqoddas and Syafiq Mughny. The recitation would be closed on Sunday at 12 AM West Indonesian time (WIB).
