Muhammadiyah Student achieves second winner in the International Mathematics Contestunion 2011

VIVAnews –Dhia Fairuz Shabrina, grade VI Muhammadiyah 4 Primary School Pucang, Surabaya carried off the silver medal in the International Mathematics Contestunion 2011 in Singapore. She set aside other participants from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Philiphina, Thailand, China and Hong Kong.

Askedabout her victory, Dhia familiarly called Ade admitted to rely on her brain that mathematics had been her favor since she was childhood.

"A total of 18 questions tested use of English. But for me there is no difficulty to do about it," said the daughter of Hery Abiyoso and Endang Irawati, residents at Sidotopo avenue, Surabaya Wednesday, August 10, 2011.

Adeexplained, to attend the tournament IMC, she first had to set aside other participants from all over Indonesia. Then, in the selection tests held in Bogor, netted 60 students. Then in next selection, the top 30 were sent to Singapore.

"18problems, one about exploration, one description, then 8 multiple choice questions and other 8 essays," explained Ade.

Adetrack record turned out to repeat her last achievement in 2010. Yet, in the tournament 2010, Ade successfully won the champion by taking home the gold medal.

"Thisachievement makes us and the school proud. Also, we would keep and encourage other students to be able to perform like Ade," said M Sholihin, Principal of SD Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya. (Source: vivanews.com)
