Yogyakarta – Health care center for people with cancer and heart disease will be accessible in the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY). This project is the follow-up of the cooperation of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital unit II Gamping, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and the University Klinikum Munster or the University Hospital of Muenster German. It was announced by dr. H. Ahmad Faesol Sp. Rad as the Chairman of MPKU Yogyakarta, who also serves as the Board of Directors of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gamping,

dr. H. Ahmad Faesol Sp. Rad said that the handling of cancer and cardiovascular treatments will be accessible for the outpatient services as well as for the hospitalization services. However, to construct the Cancer and Cardiovascular Treatment Center, it requires sufficient preparation and it also needs sustainable approach. It is expected to be accomplished in 2016.

DirectorCoordinator of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Minister, Jörg Haier said that University Hospital of Munster German is one of the universities and hospitals in German that has an outstanding service in the field of Cancer and Cardiovascular.

"We brought a team that can share their knowledge in the workshops to physicians (doctors), medical specialists (specialist doctors), nurses, midwives and lecturers in how to provide cardiovascular and cancercare and treatment, including the prevention with early screening of cancer and cardiovascular examination," JörgHaiersaid in Yogyakarta on Friday (2/5).

Prof. Dr.  Syafiq Mughni, MA, The Chairman of Muhammadiyah Health and Social Welfare, said that in order to continue the cooperation between the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and St. LouisUniversity Hospital of Munster in the field of cancer and cardiovascular treatment, both institutions agreed to hold a workshop for the care and treatment of cancer and heart disease.

The workshop entitled'Indonesia-Germany Health Care Conference on Cardiovascular and Cancer Care Yogyakarta, Indonesia' was held on 3-4 of May 2014 at Asri Medical Center Yogyakarta.

Prof. Dr. Rasjid Soeparwata, the chairman of the DIGM Indonesia German, said that the main purpose of these activities is to improve the quality of doctors and health care personnel, particularly in the handling of cancer and cardiac patients.
