Samarinda – Joko Widodo, the Presidential Candidate of Indonesia, performed his vision and mission before the participants on Tanwir Muhammadiyah in Ball Room of Mesra International Hotel, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, on Saturday, May 24th, 2014.
Without being accompanied by Jusuf Kalla, his vice presidential candidate, Joko Widodo offered his vision on the theme of Mental Revolution. In his material, Jokowi set forth his desire to do the education revolution that put a focus on strengthening national character problems. "It is useless if the construction was done in the massif, but there is not a strong character from its people," he said. In Tanwir Muhammadiyah, which was led by Din Syamsuddin, General Chairman of Central Executive of Muhammadiyah, Joko Widodo was given 20 minutes time to expose his vision. It was closed with the conclusion by Abdul Malik Dawn, Chairman of Central Executive of Muhammadiyah.
Meanwhile, Prabowo Subianto, who is also a registered presidential candidate, will attend Tanwir and expose his vision and mission at 11: 30 WITA. This Tanwir scheduled to make friendly gathering (silaturahim) with all presidential candidates and their vice presidential candidates registered at the Committee of General Election of Indonesia. In the opening session of Tanwir a day earlier, Din Syamsuddin said that Muhammadiyah remained on its track not to support any particular presidential candidates. "Muhammadiyah puts forward on high politics, moral politics and is not affiliated with any political party," he explained.
