Samarinda – This time Tanwir Muhammadiyah was different from the previous Tanwir. The Tanwir Samarinda was attended by the two presidential candidates of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo and General Liutenant (Ret.) Prabowo Subianto.

In the first session, Joko Widodo exposed his programs if he was voted to be the next President. In the next session, Prabowo performed his vision and mission entitled Developed Indonesia. Prabowo also invited the Muhammadiyah members to bring Indonesian into developed countries, as nation equal to other countries. Like Muhammadiyah who had a role in the development of Indonesia through education track, this presidential candidates from Gerindra party desires to produce figures and great leaders in this nation, as General Sudirman, the Great Commander of Muhammadiyah. "Sudirman who happens ride a horse, I will also continue this tradition," said the former General of Kopassus followed by the applause of hundreds of participants of Tanwir Muhammadiyah in Ball Room of Mesra Hotel in Samarinda, East Kalimantan.

Prabowo had a strategy that he calls a huge boost. This strategy was an accelerated development masterplan of Indonesia. Prabowo also said that all presidents had great merit for Indonesia. He cited the sustainability of the program from President Sukarno to Suharto. "Bung Karno built Krakatau Steel, Pak Harto completed it, and so on. Our entire President had merit," said former Pangkostrad.

In that opportunity, Prabowo affirmed that if he became the President, the development would be based on the spirit of nationalism. Indonesian children was no longer became maids in our own country.

Prof. Dr. Malik Fadjar, Chairman of Central Executive of Muhammadiyah, gave a little note after Prabowo’s speech, that reminded us of our nation great teacher, HOS Cokroaminoto, who told his pupils, including Bung Karno, "So if we want to think, think back, do, do again, and then he invited us to think and think again, watch and do for the future."
