Surakarta – The 16^th Muktamar Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah, which also reached its 50^th year, will be officially opened today in Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, on Tuesday (5/26). It is planned that the General Chairman of Muhammadiyah, Din Syamsudin, will do the opening of the muktamar, and the rest of muktamar agenda will  continue to run through May 30, 2014 (27 Rajab – 1 Sya’ban 1435H).

This year Muktamar IMM will be special because the venue is where they originally ratified the Muhammadiyah students’ council on March 14, 1964 in Lapangan Kutabarat. The main theme of this year muktamar is Meretas Zaman, Membumikan Gerakan untuk Indonesia Berkemajuan, which was derived from the previous Muktamar and Tanwir Muhammadiyah on Indonesia Berkemajuan. The participants of this year muktamar will be from DPD and PC IMM in Indonesia, and the number will reach a thousand people, and thousand other cadres from IMM also will participate as supporters.

Some planned agenda of Muktamar IMM, amongst the important ones, are the discussion on IMM Budget, the presentation of DPD IMM Accountability Report, and the determination of Committee that will form Central Executive Board 2014-2016. After the opening in Manahan Stadium, Solo, all Muktamar IMM agenda will be focused in Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, Pabelan, Sukoharjo. (mac)
